After meeting with many doctors, Dr. Carter was the only one that assessed my son’s whole body in order to find out what was causing his chronic pain. He was a 20 year old University of Miami student who was athletic, always playing sports and worked out. He was unable to do this because of the pain he was having. We left our first appointment with her feeling hopeful. She is professional, knowledgeable, caring, and stays connected with the patient throughout the entire journey of healing. She was always a text, email or phone call away to answer any questions and to guide my son on what to do next. He was finally pain free due to her and back to working out and playing sports! She will always be our first call if any of us become injured or have chronic pain!

Dr. Carter is fantastic and I couldn’t have had a better experience with her. During the initial consult, she really takes the time to understand your situation, do a thorough review of the mechanics of your body and assess your problem and situation. She makes sure to explain her procedure and what the possible outcomes are. I had PRP and PRF injected in my big toe joint after having 2 bunion surgeries on the same foot and with some arthritis. The PRP helped to reduce the swelling that I had and made my toe overall more flexible and have no pain allowing me to do the regular activities I enjoyed. She made sure to follow-up with my for the 8 weeks post and had me come back for a follow-up and had my bring all my regular footwear to assess which were the best for me to use. She is overall a great physician, she really cares about getting the best possible outcome for her patients and I would recommend anyone to her that could benefit from her practice!

I went to see Dr. Carter for my cervical spine pain and headaches earlier this year. Dr. Carter took the time to make a thorough evaluation based on my MRI, x-rays and physical exam on the first meeting. She recommended PRP therapy for my cervical spine which included injections and physical therapy routine. It was important to follow the protocol after the injections. Although the injections were as expected very very painful, most of the pain was gone within a day or two. Dr. Carter was very careful and very empathetic during the treatments and during all of our interactions. I was comfortable with her from the beginning. After about 4 to 6 weeks, I started to notice an improvement in the stiffness in my neck and overall pain was markedly improved after about 2 to 3 months; however, I still had chronic migraine tension headaches. So Dr. Carter recommended some trigger point injections in various areas in my head neck and shoulders. Within a few more weeks, my headaches were gone, so I think a combination of the PRP and the trigger point injections had a compounded effect on my overall well-being. I was very happy with the results and very happy with Dr. Carter. I am discussing with her some PRP injections on my knee at this time. I found the physical therapy routine in home through a custom directed app that Dr. Carter managed for me was very helpful in rebuilding my strength in my back and shoulders and thereby helping my pain condition.

Dr. Alicia Carter is an amazing doctor and human! I'm so glad I chose her to do my PRP. If you are looking to do a prp treatment and you came across her, you really don't need to look further. She is the MD you want to trust with your health. I had a few severe injuries from a chiropractor malpractice including a damaged nerve in my neck. I couldn't drive without my neck bouncing forward when I would press on the breaks. I had lost control of my neck and I thought I would never be normal again. After the PRP I had pretty fast results. It took time but I felt better two days after. My neck had strength again and didn't lose control of it when driving. Dr. Carter is the best! I have had a previous cervical spinal fusion, and she really connected all the dots for me, regarding my symptoms. She is thorough, comprehensive, personalized, and an expert in her field. I have suffered a great deal with my cervical spinal problems over the years, and it is a great comfort to me to have my health in her hands. I was originally referred to Dr. Carter by my orthopedist for an epidural steroid injection aimed at alleviating acute pain that I was experiencing from a newly-diagnosed herniated disc, spinal stenosis and concomitant sciatica. At the time (2014), Dr. Carter had an established practice in New York City and was widely renowned throughout the NY Metropolitan Area for her skill and expertise in the field of physical medicine, pain management and rehabilitation. Happily, in my experience with her, she fully lived up to her reputation, administering epidurals to me on two different occasions, about three months apart from one another, in addition to offering very helpful post-treatment guidance. Thankfully, those efforts, along with physical therapy, enabled me to avoid surgery and fully recover my mobility and functionality. Recently, I discovered that Dr, Carter had relocated her practice to Miami. Needing an epidural injection for the first time in 10 years, but disappointed that my still living in New York meant that I couldn’t get it from her, I wrote to Dr. Carter asking if she could provide me with a referral to a New York doctor whom I could see in her stead. Right away, she wrote back to me with a couple of names. While I wish I could still benefit from her services, I can confidently state that in this case, New York’s loss (and mine) is unquestionably Miami’s gain.
