Dr. Tec Soo is a wonderful doctor. He did serious spinal surgery on me. My surgery was 100% necessary & everything turned out perfect! I highly recommend Dr.Tec Soo for any type of neck, back & spinal surgeries. He did my surgery at 7:30am & at 11:00pm he came up to my hospital room just to make sure I was comfortable. This is what I call a dedicated Doctor! He is a extremely honest, caring about all of his patients, like their his family!

This all started around July of 2021, I was about 20 weeks pregnant with my second child. This pain, I've never experienced anything like it before, sharp, stabbing, numbness and tingling nerve pain that started at my neck and back that went down my left arm. I've delt with this pain the rest of my pregnancy because there is literally nothing anyone can do because I was pregnant. There we're nights I would cry myself to sleep, I missed work because the pain was so bad, I wasn't eating properly because of the pain as well. My primary doctor, bless his heart and his wonderful team of doctors worked tirelessly to help find a solution after I gave birth to my amazing son Cody born 12/5/21. I finally at this point am able to figure out what is going on and what was causing all of this horrible pain that I was experiencing. I get an EMG done, no nerve damage thank God. Then I have to do an MRI then I get a personal phone call from my primary doctor telling me to go to the ER immediately! Long story short after 3 biopsys and 3 trips to 3 different Beaumont hospitals they find a tumor on my spine my T1 vertebrae the tumor is not cancer so now we have to figure out which doctor is going to be the best person for the job, who is going to be able and willing somebody that has done this before. My doctor tells me to look up doctor Teck Soo, he tells me this is the guy that is going to be able to do the surgery and have great results. I mean when I say this doctor is so brilliant and very caring for his patients. I've never met anyone so confident in his ability to get this surgery done and do it so well. I have no pain! He got the whole tumor out which come to find out after a 7 hour surgery was wrapped around my spine. I just want to say thank you doctor Teck Soo and to the whole Ascension Providence surgical team and hospital staff for everything. I feel amazing I still have numbness, weakness and tingling in my left hand which Dr. Teck Soo said will take time to completely heal but other than that I feel great. This guy is amazing and I highly recommend him. Scheduled my surgery our first appointment and within 2 weeks had my surgery and in recovery immediately after. Believe me when I say I feel amazing. I can't say thank you to Dr. Teck Soo enough.

My mother Carole was experiencing severe back pain due to lumbar stenosis and we were able to get an appointment with Dr. Soo on a Thursday. Her pain was so severe that he immediately had her check into the hospital to perform preliminary testing. Surgery was scheduled as quickly as possible and was performed that Sunday. She has had a marked reduction in pain and says that she will be forever grateful to him for granting her a new lease on life.

Dr. Soo is really great. I have been his patient since 1999.. I had three different procedures performed by him. In 2000 when my first procedure was done I had a fast recovery and minimal pain from having LP shunt. Then in 2010 I fractured spine and had a spinal fusion done I was up and back walking and moving aroundmintg later. The very last time was August of 2021 and I couldn't see out of my left eye and terrible migraines with pain in my right arm and right side of my neck. When he came into my room the morning of my surgery, I had started completely losing my sight and he stated to me he could not promise me anything because it was very risky procedure. I said to him Itrust you with my life. After the surgery my sight has been fully restored and no more headaches. II could not thank him enough. He is hands down thy best. I was only 3 weeks after surgery.

Dr. Soo completed my Cervical Spine Fusion in 2006, he is an Excellent Surgeon. He also has a wonderful sense of humor, which helps to relieve patients anxiety about their health situation!!

I would like to thank Dr Soo for doing my last 3 fusions! Dr Soo did not want to even attempt to operate because My spine was a mess. I had 4 surgeries prior with limited success with other surgeons. After a year of begging for him to try because I couldn’t take it anymore. Of the last 10 months he did 3 surgeries to fix one in the neck. Then in the middle of my back and finally the lower back. I can say after 3 months from the last surgery he has taken all my spine pain away. I am still on the mend but he and his staff are very passionate, professional. They even return my calls at night and had me come in when I was having difficulty. I haven’t felt this good in 42 years. Thank you Dr Soo and your staff! Rubie Bedford

Had lower back fusion in May 2021. This is my third surgery that Dr. Soo has performed. I highly recommend Dr. Soo for anyone considering fusion.

I had a microdiscectomy at L4/5 recently. After 6 months of terrible pain I felt immediate relief right after surgery. 4 weeks later I am feeling good! Would highly recommend Dr. Soo! He made me feel very comfortable and he did a wonderful job. I would definitely see him again for any other spine issues in the future. Great sense of humor too which I loved! Also, felt there was a camaraderie between him and his staff which I thought was a good sign too. I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Soo!

My son was over sleeping. He has hydrocephalus. I took him to emergency at 12 midnight and he did his surgery revision right then. Barely a scar and haven’t had any trouble since. Very good bed side manner.

Dr. Soo is very skilled surgeon. I had spinal fusion surgery performed 5 weeks ago. Surgery is always a scary journey but Dr. Soo was very compassionate and answered all my questions and concerns pre surgery as well as post surgery. He is very passionate about his work and the outcome of the surgeries for his patients. He is up front and doesn’t sugar coat any of the details. My surgery was successful and has improved my quality of life even in the short period of time. I can stand tall and the pain, numbness and burning has all left. I was referred to Dr. Soo by several people I know who have had surgeries performed by Dr. Soo and had nothing but positive experience with Dr. Soo. I’m so very glad to have chosen Dr. Soo to be my surgeon. I would also like to say my experience at Southfield Ascension Providence hospital was excellent. From the time of check in to discharge. The staff were friendly and helpful. The nurses and doctors pre-surgery were all wonderful.The nurses and CNA’s on the surgery recovery floor were also wonderful! Very timely making sure my pain was controlled and I was comfortable from all aspects. Even during this time of shortage of staff at hospitals you would never know it because of the stellar care that they gave! I am grateful for Dr. Soo and all the staff at Ascension Providence Southfield hospital for a very positive experience.
