Lisa was a fantastic nutritionist to work with. Not only is she knowledgeable in her craft, but I appreciated that she was a person of color, just like me. Someone I could connect with, easily talk to and knew the foods I love to eat from my culture, but can’t have much of. Lisa helped me regain control of my nutrition, my acid reflux has significantly decreased and overall, I feel and look like I’m taking care of my health in the right way, thanks to Lisa and her nutritional package she put together for me. She was kind, compassionate and flexible. I encourage everyone to see a nutritionist at some point in their life! I hope it’s someone like Lisa.
Thanks to Lisa, I’ve been able to change my eating habits. I feel I have so much more energy. I sleep better than I ever remember and no longer wake up feeling tired. The eczema patches on my skin started to heal and fade. My blood pressure dropped 20-30 points. The results yes, more than I expected in this short period. All of this with food, and no medications. It’s amazing the power of healthy meals.On our initial consultation, Lisa collected information on my eating habits, dietary preference and not only weight but several body measurements. She was able to tell me my fat and lean muscle mass. After our initial consultation Lisa set out to develop a dietary plan for me to lower my cholesterol, blood pressure and A1C since I was considered pre diabetic. Talk about high anxiety! To my surprise she was able to develop a plan around foods I like to eat. I didn’t feel like I was missing out on anything and was still able to have my ground provisions, smoothie and of course my chocolate and snacks. She gave me a healthier way/healthier alternatives. I was able to decrease my fat mass and increase lean mass while losing weight. After 3 months with a weight loss of 11.6 lbs, my lean mass increased by 10.3 lbs and fat lost decreased by 21.6.lbs. I can now fit into clothes I haven’t worn in years.Sessions with Lisa are one on one. She was so supportive and always reminded me that I can reach out to her anytime. Would absolutely recommend Lisa to anyone looking for nutritional support.
I've been training with Alvin Rodriguez for more than three years. I look forward to my weekly sessions because I know I am going to be challenged by Alvin's thoughtful, well-rounded, and precise workouts, whether in the Midtown studio or via Zoom at home. High Intensity strength training with Alvin has been a great investment for my health and well-being, especially during the pandemic. I feel stronger and more confident in my body at 40 than in my 20s.
Lisa is highly skilled no doubt, but her energy, understanding, and openness is extra special. I'm so grateful to have met her and to have her be part of my health and fitness practice. If you're interested in taking your nutrition and fitness to the next level, want to improve your relationship with food, or even just want to spend time with a knowledgable professional in the field, I highly recommend seeing Lisa!
I bought the 10 week package and had a great experience with Lisa! She's incredibly helpful, responsive and educated on the best way to help each person meet their individual goals. After many unsuccessful attempts at losing weight, I ended up loosing 11lbs of body fat and gaining 1.5lbs of muscle in my 10 weeks with Lisa. I highly recommend working with her!
Lisa's calm and understanding nature make her a pleasure to see every week. Not only is she very present and engaging during our sessions, but she follows up by email and even by phone to make sure all of my questions and concerns are addressed. She also proactively sends me information she thinks I will use. I look forward to spending time with her, especially after a hectic day or week, because I know our conversations will ground and center me, and focus me on being positive, smart, healthy, and making the most out of my life.

If you’re looking for someone to give you a diet plan and send you along your way, that’s not Lisa. She is very thorough and explains in detail the science behind the foods you put into your body, whether bad or good. She breaks it down and equips you with the knowledge you need for your specific situation. I can say, that every session I’ve had with her, I’ve learned something new and enlightening to improve my health and eating habits. I’m well on my way to healing my relationship with food, losing weight and definitely reaping the benefits of Lisa’s experience and vast knowledge as a holistic nutritionist. She is hands down the best and has a charismatic personality to match!!

I found Lisa after receiving a diabetes diagnosis, through googling for holistic nutritionists. I knew from our consultation call that her approach and philosophies would be a great fit in supporting me in managing this new health concern, especially given her cultural background and personal experience with diabetes in her family. She asked me great questions to understand me in a full way including my health history, lifestyle, eating preferences, cooking/eating out preferences, overall concerns (I did not want to do any weighing in our plan and she was totally on board for that as it's a trigger for me) and needs and tailored a plan to me that was very manageable and enjoyable, and our process of check ins felt warm supportive, non-judgmental, and actionable. I went from a 6.5 a1c to a 5.8 in our 10 week plan (which is out of the diabetic range and almost into normal blood sugar!!) and lost 3 inches in my waist, an inch in my neck, and 2 inches in my hips. Given I have had a very toxic relationship with our fatphobic and diet centric culture which many times makes health issues worse instead of better (thin does not automatically mean healthy), this was a really great experience for me that's helping me get to optimal health in a holistic way. Couldn't recommend her enough especially if you're dealing with auto immune concerns or chronic health issues!
I've now been working with Lisa as my nutritionist and Jon as my trainer from Living Proof for about 13 months. I have nothing but positive things and results to show for it. Lisa is very knowledgable in her domain and tailors to every individuals needs based on goals, lifestyle and timeframe. When I first met Lisa, I was the pickiest eater and lived your typical NYC lifestyle of eating out and drinking on my calories. Fast forward to today and I’ve learned how to balance my portions properly and the science to what foods work well together. Guess what? I still eat burgers, steaks, pizza and chocolate. In the same span I have been utilizing HIIT with Jon as my trainer, once a week for a 30 minute session. Jon customizes your workout to meet your fitness needs and pushes your body to where 30 minutes a week delivers results. I’ve lost 48lbs in 7 months and 9%bf, not to mention gained a greater food palette and healthier lifestyle. I’d bet on Lisa & Jon or anyone at LPNF against any: crash diet, cleanse or spending 4 days in the gym for an hr a day, any day of the week!
