I’ve had the privilege of knowing New York Behavioral Health’s Associate Clinical Director, Dr. Jolie Silva, in a professional capacity for many years. Dr. Silva is an outstanding clinician who practices evidenced-based treatments, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I’ve conducted group therapy with Dr. Silva and observed her warm yet professional nature toward clients. She does a great job of explaining CBT concepts to clients and ensuring their implementation of techniques. Dr. Silva currently supervises clinicians at New York Behavioral Health, a place I highly recommend to anyone seeking outpatient psychotherapy.

I attended Dr Jolie Silva’s CASA workshop and It was enlightening and informative. She was super easy to talk to and I felt so comfortable asking questions. I would definitely attend another one of her workshops soon and look forward to it!!

I came across Dr. Jolie Silva when she came to speak at a school event. It was related to the pressures our kids have today, recognizing emotional distress and how to help them with coping skills. I was so impressed by Dr. Silva and her presentation, that I began using their services personally. I have been working with Dr. Ami Schwab, for a few months now. He is teaching me a fantastic parenting technique that has worked wonders for my family and my relationship with my children. I'm beyond thankful for this practice. The strategies I'm learning are priceless and have promoted such peace and cooperation in my household. This practice is very organized and professional and would highly recommend them.

I recently attended the seminar, Parents Spread Too Thin, presented by Dr. Jolie Silva. Normally it can be challenging to attend these sorts of things with 4 young children at home, but the name of the seminar was something I could strongly relate to. The presentation was terrific and I am so happy I went. Dr. Silva is extremely knowledgable, well spoken, and keeps the topic relevant and informative. I came out feeling more confident on how to handle stressful situations through breathing techniques and meditation strategies, such as leaves on a stream. I look forward to future seminiars with Dr. Silva!

I attended Dr.Jolie Silva's NS CASA talk last week. The topic was parents being spread too thin. I found the exercises (for the mind) she lead us through very grounding, calming & helpful. As parents it's definitely necessary to take time to center ourselves & block out the noise & let go of the anxiety & tension we hold onto. She gaves us helpful tools to do that. I also found it helpful to be reminded that some problems we can't change or fix but we can change how we react. I appreciate how Dr. Silva address real issues with honest & insightful & practical solutions.

I recently attended a talk that Dr Silva did for our community (free of charge) that addressed children, tweens and adolescents. Dr Silva went over issues with behavior, social media, devices, sleep, diet, bullying and so much more. She covered all areas in a short amount of time and stayed back for questions. I would highly recommend her or anyone else on her team for therapy. She is not only a highly experienced therapist but her work is all scientifically based and most importantly she is a mother and shared her personal experiences.
