Charles Abate does not have an adequate amount of comments to generate the sentiment analysis.
Dr. Abate is my primary physician. I seek his guidance on all medical concerns I may have. He offered a virtual visit at tge beginning of the Covid 19 pandemic and has consistently been available ( as well as his staff) to address my concerns. When making office visits he always provides extra time to speak with him in his office. I have found him to be kind, smart, considerate and always willing to Listen AND hear me. He is very special.
Listens to patient and their needs.
Dr. Abate and his staff are unprofessional. They lack empathy and compassion. Abate is competent but nothing more. He is currently the head of the Sleep Center at New York Presbyterian Hospital-- a poorly managed and disorganized place due to his leadership. I could go on with this scorching review but why? Suffice it to say, go to Dr. Abate at your own peril. Let the buyer beware!
I do not care for Dr Abate and his bedside manner. I found him to be rushing and does not explain findings in detail. Scheduling an appointment is a nightmare. He does not return calls. I will definitely be looking for a new pulmonologist. His nurse is rude and you feel like your bothering them. Stay away from him.
I went to see dr abatte more than 18 months ago for my son and myself. 18 months later im still waiting for Hudson valley to schedule the sleep study. Service is unbelievable.
Dr Abate was referred to me by my pcp. I called his office 3 times to schedule an appointment. Each time I was on hold for about 15 minutes and never got through to speak to anyone. First impression - an inefficient and impersonal doctors office. I decided to work with another doctor at another practice..
While Dr Abate may have sleep care knowledge his experience with financial matters leaves lot to be desired. I was forced to make an appointment to get a replacement mask that cost 89$. My out of pocket expenses + day off from work + appointment fee ~ 600$. Oh yes mask - 89$. Thanks doc..
I should have never gone to this doctor. I had a tumor in my lung and he sat on it for over 4 months, never even telling me I should see a surgeon. Finally one visit he said to me to see a surgeon, which I did. The surgeon said, I don't know about you but if I had a tumor in my lung the size of a walnut I'd want it removed immediately. I had him remove it and guess what. The lung cancer which I had and was not diagnosed had now spread to various lymphnodes. Now my cancer has spread to my liver and we are fighting to keep me alive. I will never stop thinking for the rest of my life that it's spreading might have been avoided if he did not sit on it. I am so angry with him. I would give him less than one star if such a thing was possible.
The staff was unreasonably difficult about making an appointment. When asked why I needed appointment (after stating I had difficulty upon inhalation), then asking if I had been diagnosed with a list of different diseases and not waiting for an answer said: Why NOW? Why are you seeing this doctor now? We are a specialist's office, a doctor has to refer you here. YEAH! I know, me and my RN license. Didn't even let me explain (through my labored and ever stressed-increased breathing) that my regular physican did tell me to find a pulmonologist. My insurance does not require a referral and I made a mistake of saying that. SO, I had to hear three times about how they are specialists (yup) and I need a referral. I said I could get one, could I make the appointment. Halfway through the rudest smuggest questioning I asked if I should find another physician. I did. As a nurse, and from a family of physicians, I think there is NOTHING as offensive as a medical office staff acting unprofessional and unpleasant.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
