Dr. Caruso is the best. Been seeing him for 15+ years. I trust him with my life.
Dr. Caruso will always get back to you if you need him to. He will always make sure you get what is needed. Appointments pretty close if not on time and he doesn't walk in and give you a 10second visit. He will ask you questions, answer your questions and make sure you are set to go. If a question arises after the appointment, call the office and his staff will set you up right away to talk with him or if not urgent he will get right back to you. I moved from the area only about 15min away. I have zero thoughts of leaving dr. Caruso.
Love Dr Carusso. He’s five star however, office staff. I’m not that crazy about. They don’t get back to you in time. You wait days for prescription, pharmacy calls them they never call the pharmacy back. He should do something about that Staff, it’s very frustrating! Not happy today! Also i need blood work done, where’s my prescription? Is it on my chart? I’ve asked this question & still have not received an answer?!!
I may be moving out of state in a year or two. Nonetheless, that won’t stop me from flying back to New York to keep Jeffrey Caruso as an essential member of health team. Dr. Caruso is a throwback to a time when a physician was guided by his or her clinical experience accumulated over decades and not Evidence Based Medicine which has been hijacked for commercial gain and academia.
I highly recommend Dr Jeffrey Caruso to anyone who wants a caring internist! I never feel rushed and always feel that Dr. Caruso is listening to my concerns. The entire office staff gets 5 stars. If you’re looking for a great health care team and a supportive physician , island internists and Dr Caruso, has my vote.
Doctor who goes above and behind to ensure patient wellness
My family has been seeing Dr. Caruso for almost 20 years. First started seeing him in the East Meadow office and followed him to Plainview. He is worth following. Kind, caring and knowledgeable doctor.
The greatest!!!
Great Doctor! Has helped me with all my needs and his bedsie manner is fantastic, very comforting to speak with.
I have been a patient of Dr. Caruso's for about 15 years and as long as he practices on this side of the equator I will probably stay with him. Medicine has changed dramatically since I first met Dr. Caruso in his East Meadow office. Physicians are under a great deal of stress and health care seems to change by the hour but Dr. Caruso has remainded a constant. I have never seen him in a huff, he seems to have all the time in the world to listen, and he respects a patient's right to make choices in his or her own enlightened self-interest. His lay back bedside manner does not mask an agile mind, a treasure trough of common sense, and consummate knowledge of medicine relative to many different specialties. He's the real deal. As a disclaimer, the relatively low grade I gave Dr. Caruso for ease of appointment is not a reflection on him; it is simply the result of being involved in a large succesful practice. Island Medical is like many other offices with a large patient load and doctors who should be wearing jogging suits and Reeboks to jog from examination room to examination room. The office is a bee-hive of activity and the staff does a remarkably good job moving things along given the number of people that come through the door each day. With respect to Dr. Caruso's "follow-up's, in my case there generally is no need for one after a visit since he addresses whatever issue brought me to him during a visit and answers all questions that I toss at him. For those who pine for the days of house calls and physicians who get you in and out in 15 minutes, I might remind them of Jack Nicholsen's remark in a crowded doctor's office "What if this is as good as it gets?" Dr. Caruso and Island Medical may very well be as good as its going to get given the likelihood of seismic changes in the way health care is and will be delivered.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
