We were referred to a Dr at West Portal office. We had a horrible experience so we changed to Dr Patwarten. She was absolutely amazing. Spent lots of time explaining things. She was knowledgeable and incredibly kind. The staff was also really kind and helpful. I asked to speak to the supervisor because of our bad experience at the West Portal office. She was incredibly professional and made sure we had everything we needed. My daughter had her wisdom teeth out and did really well

Dr. Pat did a tooth extraction for my Mom. The whole process from beginning to end has been wonderful. Dr. Pat did such a wonderful job that there's virtually no pain since the extraction. And kudos to the entire staff as well; they have been wonderful to work with. If there's ever a need for oral surgeries, this is definitely the place to call.

Dr. Pat took out my wisdom teeth this week and it went so smoothly and fast, i was a bit nervous but she and the team took great care of me, I am very satisfied with the experience and the healing process is completely painless, with very minimal swelling, thank you Dr. Pat!

First time patient- got my wisdom teeth extracted here. It was an overall nice experience. They did it quickly and thoroughly and my gums healed very fast! The doctor, the assistants, and everyone I've encountered has been so nice, explained everything clearly and accommodated my needs. I'm so happy with the staff and I was even a little fearful about the procedure at first but everyone made me feel comfortable. Thank you, guys!

Need a tooth removed? Look no further than West Portal Oral & Facial Surgery Center! Dr. Eric Scharf DDS is AMAZING!!! This is phase 1 of a tooth implant and based on my first appt & how quickly my near painless healing is taking place just 2 days later (only used advil for 2 days!!), I feel VERY confident returning for the actual implant procedure. Dr. Scharf is kind, friendly, plays good music (which definitely helps move things along under the circumstances - I selected 80s to keep things light & poppy), gentle and also impressively good at interpreting locked-open jaw speak. Also, his 2 assistants, Alex and the young woman whose name I didn't get, they were both SO helpful, kind, light on their feet, good at explaining and just as attentive as Dr. Scharf. Their front desk team are also all great and they helped walk me through insurance costs, some cost reduction options and worked well with me with my schedule. I felt so well taken care of here and though I'm exceptionally glad to say I don't have another cracked tooth in need of extraction - knock on wood - well, if I did, I wouldn't have to waste any time wondering where to go. Thank you WPOFSC!!!!

This review is based solely on a consultation, but the experience left me so traumatized, that I think I have a duty even, to let everybody know about this place. Also, I only saw one doctor and I will be referring to that one doctor only, Dr. Pat. I went in because I had issues with my upper wisdom tooth. She looked at my teeth, was absolutely outraged by something she saw and was told that both my upper and my lower teeth had to be extracted. To begin with, she didn't even mention the upper tooth and that was the one that brought me to her office in the first place. It is hard to describe it but she made me feel like I was wasting her time. The more she talked to me, the more worried I looked, the worst she got. Dr. Pat is probably the meanest doctor I have ever seen in my entire life. She was rude, arrogant and imposing. If the experience had not been bad enough, before leaving the room she lightly gave me a pat on the shoulder and said: 'Oh and if I'm doing this, I'm putting you to sleep. I would not feel comfortable if you weren't.'. First off: you don't impose total anesthesia on anybody, specially for oral surgery. You don't impose anything as a matter of fact. She didn't even ask or explain my options! Second: what kind of doctor doesn't feel comfortable operating in any circumstances? To be honest, that doesn't say much about her abilities as a surgeon. Plain and simple. Not to mention that the bill was more than a $1000, including insurance, mainly because the anesthesia itself was $750. I felt awful when I left, I was traumatized and I felt robbed. Congratulations Dr. Pat, you lost a patient. I just feel bad for the ones you are keeping.
