I have been blessed. If only I had a gift at writing, maybe then I could share the depth of what this miracle man offers all of us. His bedside manner is incredible only outdone by his surgical tenacity and genius. His office is incredible. Always pleasant and professional. My faith has been tested over my 8 year pancreatic battle, now fully restored. Dr Portera is a truly gifted surgeon and a very dedicated and personable human being. Dr. Portera is my hero! 6 years ago he removed a malignant tumor from my stomach lining. He saved my life and I didn’t need chemo or radiation because he was able to get it all. He’s kind, courteous, yet very professional. It’s been 6 years!

Dr. Portera is the best medical professional anywhere that we have personally experienced. He is highly skilled and professional while still being extremely personable and caring. Couldn’t have had anyone better to do my mothers procedure. I was extremely nervous for her as she is 64 and she’s all I have, however knowing she was in his care made me feel much better. He even called me himself after her procedure to let me know she did okay. Everyone we have dealt with in his office has always been super kind! I wish going to ANY appointment was as great as it is with Dr. Portera and his team. The world truly needs more of him! True angel.

Dr. Portera is a wonderful person. My husband is not fond of Dr's but really likes him. I have been with my husband to all the visits and we both like him. We're glad we have him to consult and do any surgeries of needed.

I was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer in late Nov. 2021. Getting past the shock I set out to learn as much as I could, and also to select my team of surgeons. I met two oncology breast surgeons to discuss my options. I had two choices of a lumpectomy or a mastectomy. I qualified for both options. My tumors were small, invasive, estrogen positive HER2 neg. I chose a mastectomy with immediate reconstruction by Dr. Cole. I’m thrilled with my team of surgeons. My experience was far better than I expected. Not a single regret for choosing a mastectomy. I’ve healed amazingly well and at 6 weeks, my life feels pretty normal. Looking at me you’d never know I had breast cancer. I recommend Dr. Portera with great confidence in his talent and expertise.
