I came to this place (Annandale, VA) facing mental health issues and substance abuse and looking for a place where I could to my IOP (Intensive outpatient program) after completing my PHP (partial hospitalization program)... End up finding a home, a family, a great group of therapists, professional, friendly, embracing, knowledgeable and most of all made me feel comfortable opening up and being myself. Their approach is not the common type, they use music and arts as a medium to help you express your emotions, traumas, your progress and insights. They're trained in all forms of therapy and seen them using CBT, DBT, EFT, play therapy, mindfulness therapy, humanistic, hollistic, Psychodrama. They also offer 1 on 1 and group sessions, family/couples therapy, Dharma meetings, medical practitioners, counselors, medication management, nurses and staff. Their therapy sessions helped me expand on my interpersonal, and social skills by motivating me to speak in public and lose my stage fright. Even if you're not artistic inclined, believe me, you will leave this place loving arts more than anything. Also they have a very subtle approach to sensory regulation which helps with regulating your emotions and understanding your Triggers. My personal experience was more with therapists like Wu, Maggie, Eva, Lindsey and Carrie (family/couples therapy) and each one of them combined offered an individualized approach to therapy, and when combined, it was perfect because it helped me explore into different areas that I needed to work on through different techniques. This is a place for everyone in need for mental health, substance abuse or just a general wellness help, and from what I know most insurances will cover it, if not all. Once you complete the program you are enrolled in the alumni program and can still attend to their weekly meetings, see your friends, and hang out on their monthly parties. This is truly a place that made me feel belonged, and that made me feel that I will never be alone in the struggle. Totally reccomended. Thanks RU! Thanks to all that saved my life.
