I started seeing Dr. Tia two years ago. When I started seeing her I was extremely confused, unmotivated, and severely depressed. I was a new mom. During our visits Dr. Tia was an amazing listener, documented everything, suggested much healthier perspectives to help me grow, and she never made me feel like “time is up!”. She allowed me extra time when needed to finish discussions and come up with the most effective treatment plan. She assured me that joining a mental health program was what I needed and it changed my life. I discovered I was involved in an abuse cycle and with the help of family counseling, seeing another psychologist, therapist and from support from my church group, everyone (Including Dr. Tia, and my outside therapist) were having the same suggestions. I began the long and heartbreaking process of divorce. It is the most difficult thing I ever have been through. Dr. Tía was available to me. She is the most responsive Doctor I have ever had. She responds to texts, emails, and phone calls when I was in crisis. Even when I forgot to take my medication one night she texted me prescribing a temporary customized prescription plan. Dr. Tia isn’t just a Dr. She is truly an empathetic, caring person and beautifully human. Many times there was no one to watch my 3 year old son so he wore headphones and used his iPad during my appointment. My son LOVES Dr. Tia. One day, she ripped her lion king calendar page he liked off her calendar and he hung it up in our room and loved looking at it. My son loves to give her a hug when we leave. The only time she was late was when she was taking her children to school, and she sent me a text before hand and showed up when she said she would! Today, I don’t think I would be doing as well as I am without the professionals and loved ones who have helped me. I trust Dr. Tía whole heartedly with my mental health and to me that is the most important thing for me and my family.
