I have had serious issues that control my life and affect my self esteem. They have caused me pain and extended anxiety and isolation. This surgeon , Dr. Van EPS , is one of the very few medical professionals who talked to me or asked me questions.. or even LOOKED at my face or body! He also was attentive and quick to start a plan to help me improve and get the right treatment . He did not act like my problems were trivial . He did not act like I was an unwanted imposition or intrusion on his time. I felt heard and I felt my distress mattered to him. He was kind and personal and ready to remedy my dysfunction ASAP . My spirits had been very low a long time, and I was feeling despair . But after seeing him and sensing he is very competent and also compassionate I came home with a feeling of hope that I might have a normal life again . I felt enormously grateful to him and also to two other doctors who showed decency and humanity before I found Dr Van EPS . I was afraid no one would ever help me and that I would be stuck in a prison of sickness and embarrassment . Some of the doctors I saw before him truly DID NOT care even a little and made NO effort to discover the root of my problem . No tests, no questions no personal contact at all. I felt they wanted to get rid of me quickly . I am sorry this sounds negative , but it was my experience . I finally feel I have a person who wants to discover the source of my pain and is willing to take the steps to get answers to move forward and my lucky day was crossing paths with two small town doctors who were attentive and honest and sent me to Dr Van EPS. After crying a lot the past six months I came home hopeful and would gladly kiss his feet for trying to help me make progress . No kidding either .

Dr Askenazy is the best doctor. He listen carefully to the patient and then explain the options for me. I recommend him to anyone that has colon and rectal issues.

I trust Dr. Cusick and her staff explicitly. Because of her, I am that much closer to being cancer free. I couldn't have asked for a better caring group of medical professionals.

Dr Cusick has been my Dr for a number of years. She always explains everything to me and takes the time to make sure that I understand instructions. She is NOT knife happy as are others I've seen, Shevis more into preventing future problems but is willing when surgery is called for.

The wait time was extremely long. Dr. Cusick did, although, take her time with the exam and visit. The staff was great. I am editing my original post as my experience from many follow-up visits proved to me that although the initial appointments wait was long, it was not the typical. All Followup appointments there after I experienced practically no wait time, and appreciate the staff and have great respect for Dr. Cusick.

Dr. Askenasy is an expert, or at least he helped me heal. I feel so much better now.

Couldn't have been more satisfied. All my questions were answered and I felt very confident with my visit.

Highly recommend Dr. Marianne Cusick for colon and rectal disease requiring surgery. Exhibits competence and technical skill. Is innovative and creative in approach to problem solving surgical challenges. Approachable, personable, communicates clearly. Translates medical jargon into understandable information for patient. Overall excellent physician.

Dr Van Epps was excellent highly recommended. Excellent knowledge and excellent rapport with patients.
