List of Ironwood Cancer And Research Center's Reviews
ICRC and specifically the Arbor location and Dr. Bansal are simply the best. From reception to nursing all the way to Oncologists and treatment there is no better support, skill and promise. We feel “heard”. Our concerns are met with resources and compassion. Dr. Bansal sets the bar for quality cancer care. Highly recommending this cancer care team option.
I cannot thank Ironwood Cancer and Research Center (in Gilbert) enough for the excellent service they provide. Unfortunately my family has had the need to use Dr. Bhalla and Dr. Deroock for many years now and we could not be happier with the service we receive. Both of these men are extremely compassionate and have always treated us with kindness and respect. Thank you to all the doctors and staff that have made difficult times a little easier.
My care was transferred here when my previous oncologist's office was acquired by another and they no longer took my insurance. Begrudgingly, I came here for care. It has been a NIGHTMARE. No labs in office, nobody will touch my port that I've had for 2 years because I don't have a "card" (guess I'm going to the ER for my long overdue port flush), and my scan that was due in December (they were so excited to tell me they could do in house) takes WEEKS to get results for. I've been battling, relapsing, and battling for 2 years. 4 different hospitals, several doctors. But this is BY FAR the worst. I honestly don't think I will ever be told the results of my scan. I've been told by other patients I'm better off just going to the ER. Disgraceful. Especially for people in our situation.
They take weeks to call you back, if they even do call back. I waited weeks for someone to call for my first appointment(yes I also called but was forced to leave a message) Then I left multiple messages for someone to contact me about my blood work(still waiting) then I needed to reschedule an appointment, which is tomorrow, I've called and messaged 3 times and no one is responding! If they spent as much time caring for their patients as they do gossiping and goofing around in office, they may actually help people. They are the absolute worst!
Sun City Office: Dr Rifkind has been upfront with my husband and myself with every detail of his cancer and the choices to be made. He never once made us feel like we had to have my husband try a treatment over another and always put his quality of life first and foremost. My husband is keeping Dr Rifkind as long as possible before going into hospice. Your one of a kind and very much appreciated for being there through this journey and into the next. Thank you for all you've done. Thank you for always taking the time to listen to how my husband is living his life and the fun things he does in-between visits. Thank you for always encouraging Brett to live life to its fullest. The nursing staff there are awesome too and always have my husband's best interest at heart.
My father was a patient there and suffered a medical emergency and receptionist said I could not cancel an appointment with them due to HIPPA. Really? So much for compassionate care.
amazing doctors, great resources. cured me.
Staff were very pleasant to deal with.
Well let me start out by saying that the Mesa office doesn’t know their right hand from their left. I’ve had all sorts of issues with the E. Arbor office. Dr Bansal, I think drops the ball on his responsibilities often and is quick to blame everyone else for the issues. Such as insurance, patients, etc. I think he can be arrogant, talks over ya, and can be condescending even! He blamed my husband for not taking personal responsibility for his health by not attending an appointment. Which in fact was changed so he could work with my insurance to get a test approved. And he was the one standing there who changed it with his staff and then had the gaul to blame us for missing the appointment. He was to call ME (his wife) due to the fact my husband works out of town. Therefore he wouldn’t be available to answer phone calls till after their offices closed. On april 1st, the doctor was to let me know the status of the test approval, in which never happened…. 😬 So in calling his nurse, I proceeded to ask about if the blood test, & had it been approved, and to make a follow up appointment? The Dr… called back & proceeded to yell at me over the phone about the missed appointment. Which is the one he changed himself, and was to make it a status call to me. I spent hours dealing with his office along with my insurance on 4 way calls dealing with why they’re denying the blood work, and they (drs. Office) tried to say it was a coding issue, when in fact Dr. Bansal, was supposed to do a pier to pier with the insurance doctors. Funny how after going through all of that … later that day Dr Bansals, nurse called & said he got it approved. We’ve waited for 4 months going through this crap, all because Dr. Bansal, didn’t call & do the pier to pier with the insurance company. So the nurse called to let us know he was sending over the order to Sonora Quest laboratories, and he could go in the morning to get the test done. Only to receive a call back a day or so later stating that the insurance denied his test, due to the fact that (he the nurse)conveniently forgot to tell us we’d have to wait till a specific date to go do it. In which I’m now being charged $3,000!!!! 😡 Then his nurse sent him back only to go get the test that we thought was approved the first time. Then when it came time to have the follow up reading with Dr. Bansal. He tried to tell me the test wasn’t the right test given. He Blamed the insurance instead of himself. Cuz after all he’s the one that wrote out the order, right? So he then proceeded to hand me the blood order papers. He Refused to even explain it, & stated to me, I don’t blame you for being frustrated with the whole thing and asked me if I had made an appointment at Banner Andersen center oncology? I stated yes, I did! He stood up handed me the papers and said there’s nothing more I can do for you. He Didn’t even explain the test to us. I knew in that moment that the Banner Andersen had asked for his records from Dr. Bansals office and that Dr. Bansal was pissed, about us changing oncology. Unbelievable!!!! …. What a jerk! So we still don’t know if he has polycythemia or not! Other issues that I’ve seen are: Staff stands around visiting from appearances, had to wait for over 30 minutes just for a prescription sample pick up because of a staff member talking. Had to ask 3 times what was taking so long? Wouldn’t have gone down there if they hadn’t called to state it was ready. And still someone wouldn’t go retrieve the sack so we could be on our way. Had to leave and go pick it up at a later time. I TRUELY FEEL SORRY FOR ANYONE THAT IS BEING TREATED BY THIS PLACE. Good luck! 😤
Wow,where do I start i never once had a bad visit, treatment or time there, and I literally was there every day 5 days a week for radiation. I was treated like a Queen, helped up onto the table every day,the staff the Dr s omg I could not have been blessed with a better team, ever. They made it bearable,I trusted them all with my treatments, I'm glad its over but I miss their faces for sure..GREAT JOB to my radiation team,Dr.Bangoo and Dr.Halbor and all the staff..Melody

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
